Easter 2010

Happy Easter, 2010. We had a fantastic Easter!!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with good food, family and thoughts of our Savior. I am grateful for my Savior and the sacrifice he made for me. I hope we all took time to remember the reason that we celebrate Easter amid all the candy! :)

Easter Dress Photo Shoot

My friend, McKenzie, ran another photography special ($35 one kid, one outfit, one backdrop), so I signed Hailey up to get pictures of her in her Easter dress. My grandma bought this dress for her, and I LOVE it. I was so disappointed that I forgot the hat that goes with it for the photo shoot.

There were no bad pictures from the photo shoot, but here are just a few of my favorites:

Easter Weekend

We had such a great time Easter weekend! We had Ryan's brother's family come stay with us and had a BLAST with the family!!!

We had a family Easter egg hunt on Saturday morning - luckily the rain held out until after we were all done at the park. The kids had a blast playing on the playground, while us adults had a great time catching up! We don't get to see each other nearly often enough!!

Sunday morning, we found that the Easter bunny had come. I wish I had gotten a picture of our living room - it looked like our living room had exploded candy. There were jelly beans, candy kisses and other candy ALL over. Hailey, Brock and Aspen had such a great time running around trying to find the eggs and candy.

Sunday, as per tradition, we had brunch as a family at the Alpine Country Club. We LOVE the food at the buffet there! Hailey's favorite was the cotton candy.

tired girl - this was near the end of our brunch at the club and the late nights were starting to catch up with her.

Easter Sunday...(a little late)

As I was browsing through some other blogs, I realized I hadn't told about our Easter.

It's still a little chilly here in Utah, so the Easter bunny didn't hide any eggs outside for our little Hailey. He hid them around the living room. It was fun watching her hunt for the Easter eggs this year because she got more of what you were supposed to do than she did last year. She did really well picking up eggs and putting them into her basket until one of the plastic eggs came apart and jelly beans flew out...then it was all over. All she wanted was candy! What kid doesn't? :)

The Easter bunny brought her some really fun stuff (I didn't get pictures, but I got video, which isn't very exciting, so I won't bore you with it.) She got a heart shaped calculator, some necklaces, a drawing pad of paper, some barrettes, a twisty light flashlight thingy (and yes that is the technical term...shush!), and lots of candy!

Her big present from the Easter bunny was:

HER VERY OWN ROCKING CHAIR!! (the motivation behind this was that maybe she will stop stealing mine!)

She loves it and sits with her little animals and reads and talks to them. She also gets very comfortable watching Enchanted and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in it :)

Later in the afternoon, we got to see the fam at the Alpine Country Club for Easter Brunch! It was delicious!!! Pork roast, beef ribs, omelets, 4 cheese tortellini, mashed potatoes, bacon, eggs, sausage and all sorts of delicious desserts! It was a weight watchers nightmare...but I enjoyed myself! :) They had these delicious little creations that looked like candied apples, but it was cheesecake filling dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in candy, sprinkles or coconut. They were DIVINE! I'm determined to figure out how to make them....

It was a lovely day.
